DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health & Recovery
JOB SUMMARY: The Certified Crisis Peer Specialist will provide suicide and mental health crisis support for the Tulalip community. Network with organizations and agencies to coordinate services for clients and their family involved with suicide or other mental health crises. Educate the community on how to access the crisis system and act as a liaison when needed to ensure the crisis mental health system is working effectively for tribal members. Provides ongoing communication and collaboration with other Tulalip departments.
COMPENSATION: $21.43 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years of experience in recovery from substance abuse or history of service work in the recovery community.
- One (1) year of experience with either working or volunteering with children and families; demonstrating sensitivity to individuals, families, cultural differences.
- One (1) year of experience working with diverse cultures, specifically Native Americans.
- Six (6) months of experience working as a certified peer Specialist or related field.
- Experience in crisis intervention preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver’s License.
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation. (Abstract Required)
- WA Certified Peer Specialist Certification.
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray prior to hire.
- CPR/BLS certificate.
- HIPAA certification upon hire.
- Must abide by departments vaccination policy and will need to provide immunization records.
- Must complete a Tulalip Health System pre-onboarding credentialing prior to start date.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a contracted position up for renewal annually.
