DEPARTMENT:  Housing & Community Development



 



JOB SUMMARY:  The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations within Housing and Community Development properties and facilities. This position provides leadership and direction to the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, as well as unit turnovers. Works directly with tenants, contractors, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate repairs, renovations, and service requests. Will require strong technical knowledge across multiple building systems, effective staff supervision, and the ability to prioritize and schedule work to meet organizational goals. Ensures compliance with safety regulations, tribal policies, and applicable building codes while maintaining high standards of quality, service, and tenant satisfaction.



 



COMPENSATION:  $33.27 hr.





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Maintenance, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field. *Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis

     



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in construction, maintenance, or related fields.

    Experience should include:



    • Housing inspections, estimating, and planning.

    • Preparing residential properties for move-in readiness.

    • Residential construction and remodeling.

    • Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair/maintenance.

    • Scheduling, and workflow management.

    • Coordinating with vendors and contractors providing construction-related services.



  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience leading a work crew or staff.

  • Three (3) years of experience with financial management, creating and maintaining budgets.



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)

  • Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required)

  • CPR/First Aide certification. *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.

  • Asbestos Certification. *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.

  • Unit drug testing certification. *Will allow one (1) year to obtain.

  • Relevant leadership or project management training. *Will allow one (1) year to obtain.

  • Certifications in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or construction supervision preferred.

  • Must complete an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job.

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a regular full-time position.
