DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health & Recovery
JOB SUMMARY: The Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee will be trained in accordance with Washington State requirements to provide counseling services regarding substance abuse and other related issues to Tribal members as well as Snohomish County. Providing substance abuse treatment and intervention with a complex range of disorders and treatment needs. Networks and communicates effectively with a variety of groups, organizations, and agencies; engage, motivate, coach, validate/reinforce and redirect positive behavior change. Gain the confidence and trust of clients and their families through respectful communication. Support and facilitate productive connections and interactions with clients and family and assist them in rehabilitation and successful treatment.
COMPENSATION: $21.37
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an Associate Degree program in substance use disorder or academic equivalent required.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year of experience working with diverse cultures, specifically Native Americans.
- One (1) year of experience working with HIPAA and maintaining confidentiality.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required)
- CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray.
- Must abide by the departments vaccination policy.
- Valid Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee Certification pursuant to applicable RCW 18.205.090 and WAC 246-811-030.
- Must have had no disciplinary action taken by licensor or WA Department of Health or applicable agency of licensing/certification.
- HIPAA certification upon hire.
- Must disclose if you are under investigation or charges pending from licensor.
- Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a Contracted position.
