DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services
JOB SUMMARY: Serves as a Medical Laboratory Technician in the clinical laboratory, performing routine STAT analyses in Chemistry, Hematology, urinalysis and CLIA waived testing
COMPENSATION: $30.23
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent field.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, to include experience in all areas of the laboratory (chemistry, hematology, etc.) and all aspects of testing (pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic)
- Two (2) years’ experience coordinating proficiency testing
- Experience implementing, maintaining and using laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR).
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- Certification as Medical Lab Technician from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (MT-ASCP) or equivalent licensure.
- Certification to perform “moderate complexity” testing as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS-CLIA).
- Must possess current CPR or BCLS. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray prior to hire and annually as a condition of continued employment.
- Must abide by the departments vaccination policy.
- Must complete HIPAA training upon hire.
- Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a Regular Full-time position.
