DEPARTMENT: Natural Cultural Resources-Shellfish



 



JOB SUMMARY:

Supplies technical oversight and representation of Tulalip usual and accustomed marine habitat conditions and associated shellfishery related resources. Will conduct stock composition studies, habitat assessments as well as the conduct or participate studies and investigations that support tribal fisheries.  In addition, the position is responsible for geospatial data related to shellfishery management, maintenance and communication of Shellfish Program and NCR marine geospatial databases necessary to conduct research, management, and studies as directed by the Program Manager.





 



COMPENSATION:  $36.86 hr.



 





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • Bachelor Degree in Fisheries, Geography or related field.

  • Master’s Degree in Fisheries, Geography or related field preferred. *Master’s Degree may be considered in lieu of two (2) years of experience.



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • Two (2) years’ experience working as a Shellfish Biologist, invertebrate biology, fisheries, or oceanography.

  • Two (2) years working with ArcGIS Enterprise to create geo-spatial databases with the use of automated geospatial processing tools and Python.

  • Two (2) years of field work creating complex GIS Feature classes.

  • Six (6) months experience creating and using geospatial data from photographs.



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • WA State Driver’s License.

  • Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required)

  • CPR/First Aide Certificate. *Will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.

  • Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) license and 25 hours of use. *Will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.

  • Must be certified in SCUBA, SSI/PADI Advanced Open Water and Nitrox. *Will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.

  • FAA Part 107 Drone License. *Will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.

  • Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a regular Full-Time position.
