DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services



 



 



JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant is responsible for the healthcare delivery support in the primary care, acute care, behavioral health, and specialty clinics. They will obtain vital signs while conducting a brief history of the patient’s chief complaint, document and report finding to the supervising clinician.  Will act as patient advocate as well as support the clinical staff.  Will perform patient care and administrative duties as instructed by medical providers and supervisors and will perform duties as needed by the Tulalip Health Clinic.



 



 



 



COMPENSATION:  $23.25



 



The $5,000 Signing Bonus is paid out in two installments:




  • 1st installment of the bonus is paid on your FIRST paycheck.

  • 2nd installment of the bonus is paid after successful completion of your 90 day probationary period.



Eligibility:




  • Signing bonuses are for select positions only and will be indicated on the job posting.

  • Current Employee department transfers are not eligible for signing bonus.

  • Any former Employee who has resigned or been dismissed within the past 12 months is not eligible for a signing bonus.



 



 





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or a training Certification and endorsement for a Registered Medical Assistant.



 



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • One (1) year of experience as CMA.

  • Six (6) months of experience in a clinical setting as a graduate of an accredited program as CMA.

  • Six (6) months of experience using EPIC Electronic Health Record as CMA preferred.



OR




  • Two (2) years of experience as RMA.

  • One (1) year experience using EPIC Electronic Health Record as RMA preferred.

  • Experience with prior authorizations as either a CMA or RMA preferred.

  • Experience working in pediatrics as a CMA or RMA preferred.



 



 



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • Must have one of the following:


    • Certified Medical Assistant Examination through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).

    • Registered Medical Assistant Certification Examination through American Medical Technologists (AMT) or equivalent.

    • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Examination through National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

    • National Certified Medical Assistant Examination through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.

    • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Examination through American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or equivalent.

    • Washington State Medical Assistant License.



  • BLS/CPR Certification.

  • Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray.

  • HIPAA certification upon hire.

  • Must abide by the departments vaccination policy.

  • Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.



 



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a Regular Full-time position.
