DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services



 



 



JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant is responsible for the healthcare delivery support in the primary care, acute care, behavioral health, and specialty clinics. They will obtain vital signs while conducting a brief history of the patient’s chief complaint, document and report finding to the supervising clinician.  Will act as patient advocate as well as support the clinical staff.  Will perform patient care and administrative duties as instructed by medical providers and supervisors and will perform duties as needed by the Tulalip Health Clinic.



 



 



 



COMPENSATION:  $23.25



 



 





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.



 



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • One (1) year of related experience.

  • Six (6) months experience in a clinical setting as a graduate of an accredited program.

  • Six (6) months experience using EPIC Electronic Health Record preferred.

  • Experience with prior authorizations preferred.

  • Experience with pediatrics preferred.



 



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • Must have one of the following;


    • Certified Medical Assistant Examination through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA);

    • Registered Medical Assistant Certification Examination through American Medical Technologists (AMT);

    • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Examination through National Healthcareer Association (NHA);

    • National Certified Medical Assistant Examination through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT);

    • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Examination through American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).



  • Must apply for and obtain a WA State Medical Assistant Certification, Interim Certification, or Medical Assistant – Registered within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment unless extended by the Health System Administrator.

  • BLS/CPR Certification.

  • Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray.

  • HIPAA certification upon hire.

  • Must abide by the departments vaccination policy.

  • Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.



 



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a Regular Full-time position.
