DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health & Recovery
JOB SUMMARY: Will provide counseling services regarding problem gambling substance abuse and other related issues to Tribal members as well as others in the local community. Provides problem gambling treatment, community education, outreach and intervention with a complex range of disorders and treatment needs. Networks and communicates effectively with a variety of groups, organizations and agencies; engage, motivate, coach, validate/reinforce, and redirect positive behavior change; gain confidence and trust of client’s and their families through respectful communication; support/facilitate productive connections and interactions with clients and family and engage them in the rehabilitation and successful treatment. Will provide services to gambling disorder clients, their spouses and family or anyone impacted by problem gambling while in treatment or in aftercare/maintenance program.
COMPENSATION: $27.62
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Associate Degree in Human Services or related field.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year working with diverse cultures, specifically Native Americans.
- One (1) year experience working with HIPAA and confidentiality.
- One (1) year of Substance Use Disorder counseling experience.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray.
- CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification.
- WA state Certified Problem Gambling Counselor upon hire.
- Must have had no disciplinary action taken by licensor or Washington State Department of Health or applicable agency of licensing/certification. Must disclose if you are under investigation or charges pending from licensor.
- Must abide by the Tulalip Tribes vaccination policy.
- WA state Certified Problem Gambling Counselor upon hire.
- HIPAA certification upon hire.
- Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a Contracted position.
