DEPARTMENT: Legal- Office of the Reservation Attorney



 



 



JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a Tulalip Reservation Attorney, this position functions at a high level of independence in performing complex substantive paralegal work which, absent the paralegal, would be performed by an attorney. Supervises assigned Paralegal I, File Clerk and/or Receptionist. Coordinates all contracts, cases, codes and code amendments, and other legal matters assigned to their practice group(s). Their work includes legal research, shepardizing cases, analyzing case fact situations for legal issues identification and development of legal strategy.  In addition, may act as lead worker or coordinate projects involving other paralegals or clerical support staff. As a tribal court spokesperson, may be assigned a small number of routine cases.



 



 



 



COMPENSATION:  $30.27



 





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • Associates Degree in Paralegal studies or a Certificate in Paralegal studies required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a Certificate in Paralegal studies required * Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.



 



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • Eight (8) years of experience working as a Paralegal.  



 



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check



 



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a regular full-time position.
