DEPARTMENT: Treaty Rights & Government Affairs
JOB SUMMARY: This position provides leadership for the Office of Treaty Rights and Governmental Affairs. As well as provide advice and analysis, develops policy positions, and monitors legislative and policy developments on natural resource matters affecting Tulalip fishing and treaty rights. Will represent the Tulalip Tribes in tribal, federal, state, and local forums for fishing, treaty rights and environmental policy development. The Director negotiates agreements with developers and for giving presentations for public relations purposes.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Political Science, Tribal Governance, or related field.
*Master’s Degree may be considered in lieu of two (2) years of experience.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Seven (7) years of experience working with Treaty Rights protection, Fisheries Management, Environmental protection & restoration activities, government affairs or protection of culturally important species or habitats.
- Seven (7) years of supervisory or management experience.
- Seven (7) years of experience utilizing communication, public relations, & public speaking skills.
- Experience with tribal governments and cultures.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/PREREQUISITES
- Must be an enrolled Tulalip Tribal Member.
- WA State Driver License. (Personal Auto Insurance Required)
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation (Abstract Required)
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
