DEPARTMENT: Tulalip Police Department



 



 



JOB SUMMARY: The Crime Analyst will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data describing crime patterns, crime trends, and potential suspects; compiles, reviews, and enters data associated with criminal activity. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of criminal justice procedures in order to assist law enforcement in identifying patterns, predicting future trends, and improving overall efficiency and effectiveness in combating crime.



 



 



 



COMPENSATION:  $33.27-$49.92hr. *The offered rate will be dependent on experience.



 





MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Social Science, Behavioral Science, Business Administration or related field. *Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.



 



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • Four (4) years of computer experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs.

  • Four (4) years of experience with data analysis including but not limited to; collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information.

  • Experience working within law enforcement or the criminal justice system.

  • Experience working with native communities preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)

  • Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required)

  • Must disclose all traffic infractions and vehicle collisions.  Driving record will be assessed by TPD.

  • Must complete Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Certification*Will allow ninety (90) to obtain.

  • CPR/First Aide Certificate. *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.

  • Never been arrested or convicted of any crime of violence; which any disposition exists except not guilty.

  • Never been convicted of any felony crime or been convicted of domestic violence.

  • Must disclose any use, possession, or sale of any illegal drugs during lifetime.

  • Must pass all TPD Police Background Investigation, polygraph, psychological, personal history packet and credit check.

  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the Tulalip Police Department Background check.

  • Applicant’s qualifications and suitability will be assessed by the Chief of Police for hire.



 



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a regular Full-Time position.
