DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health
JOB SUMMARY: Provide suicide and mental health crisis support for the Tulalip community. Network with organizations/agencies to coordinate services for clients and families involved with suicide or other mental health crises. Educate the community on how to access the crisis system and acts as a liaison when needed to ensure the crisis Mental Health System is working effectively for tribal members. Provides ongoing communication and collaboration with other Tulalip departments.
COMPENSATION: $21.43 hr. * Applicant may be offered more depending on experience.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) year of experience in recovery from substance abuse or history of service work in the recovery community.
- One (1) year of experience with either working or volunteering with children and families; demonstrating sensitivity to individual, family, and cultural difference and ability to engage and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Six (6) months of experience working as a certified peer counselor or related field.
- Experience in crisis intervention preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver’s License.
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation (Abstract Required)
- WA Peer Counselor Certification
- Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray prior to hire.
- CPR/First Aid certificate.
- Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
- HIPAA certification upon hire.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a contracted position.
