DEPARTMENT: Natural Cultural Resources- Forestry
JOB SUMMARY:
Manage daily activities of the Tulalip Forestry Program. This includes successful program budget management; timber sale contracting and administration; consult with staff to implement silvi-cultural timber stand management prescriptions; forest road design, construction, maintenance and repair
COMPENSATION: $41.06 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or related field. * Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) years of professional Forestry experience.
- Five (5) years’ experience performing timber cruising and extensive forestry data analysis.
- Five (5) years in Forest market valuations, timber purchase and sale negotiating experience.
- Five (5) year’s supervisory and/or management experience.
- Five (5) years’ experience with Road design, construction and maintenance of logging haul roads.
- One (1) year experience with ArcGIS mappings, GPS data collection, data recording.
- Experienced in commercial herbicide applications: State Herbicide applicator’s License. Preferred
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required)
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
