DEPARTMENT: Betty J Taylor Early Learning Academy (TELA)
JOB SUMMARY: Engage children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical and developmental growth in preparation to reach School Readiness Goals. Utilize Creative Curriculum to work with children on a daily basis to address individual educational goals. Work with the Lushootseed Department to bring Lushootseed/Culture into the classroom for a minimum of one hour per day. Include Lushootseed in the regular classroom activities as much as possible during the rest of their days. Work with families to support their child in their educational success. Work with Classroom team to assure that the children are all achieving success in the classroom. Be an active participant in the classroom teaching team. Mandated child abuse reporters, TTC 4.05.140 states you must report suspected child abuse, neglect or exploitation to Child Protective Services (CPS) or local law enforcement immediately.
COMPENSATION: $23.25-$25.57 hr. *Applicant may be offered more depending on experience.
The Signing Bonus is paid out in two installments:
- 1st installment of the bonus is paid on your FIRST paycheck.
- 2nd installment of the bonus is paid after successful completion of your 90 day probationary period.
Eligibility:
- Signing bonuses are for select positions only and will be indicated on the job posting.
- Current Employee department transfers are not eligible for signing bonus.
- Any former Employee who has resigned or been dismissed within the past 12 months is not eligible for a signing bonus.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- First WA State Stackable Certificate or,
- Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) for Birth to three.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year experience working with children (birth to age three or five) and families in childcare, education, classroom or another related field.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver's License and Personal Auto Insurance

- Food Handlers Permit. (Please submit document to employmentteam@tulaliptribes-nsn.gov)
- Blood Borne Pathogens Certificate. (Please submit document to employmentteam@tulaliptribes-nsn.gov)
- Must abide by the departments MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccination policy. (Please submit document to employmentteam@tulaliptribes-nsn.gov)
- Must pass an physical exam prior to hire.
- Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing job duties.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
