Tribal Department: Dental Clinic

 

Job Summary:  Performs the professional duties of a Washington State Licensed Dental Hygienist in the Tulalip Dental Clinic.  The purpose of this position is to provide dental health services to the designated Native American population in Tulalip.  Performs duties in accordance with licensure codes to practice hygiene in the state of Washington.  Duties include providing local anesthetic, oral prophylaxis, deep subgingival scaling, root planing and curettage, sealants, oral hygiene instructions as well as application of desensitizing and caries prevention medicaments.

 

Compensation:  $43.15 hr.

 

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Degree of graduation from a Dental Hygiene Program accredited through the American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).


 

Minimum Related Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience working as a registered dental hygienist.

  • Two (2) years’ experience with Dentrix or like EDR software required.

  • Two (2) years’ experience working with digital radiographs required.

  • Two (2) years’ experience maintaining confidentiality required.

 

Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • Must provide proof of a valid dental hygiene license, that is verified by the state board and be currently in practice (within the past year).
  • WA State Driver’s License & Personal Automobile Insurance.
  • Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • CPR/First Aide Certificate. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens Certificate. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must complete HIPAA training upon hire.
  • Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
  • Must keep all state required continuing education credits up to date.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

 

Terms of Employment:  This is a Temporary Contracted position. 24 hours per week for 3 months.
