Job Summary: Engage children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical and developmental growth in preparation to reach School Readiness Goals. Utilize Creative Curriculum to work with children on a daily basis to address individual educational goals. Work with the Lushootseed Department to bring Lushootseed/Culture into the classroom for a minimum of one hour per day. Include Lushootseed in the regular classroom activities as much as possible during the rest of their days. Work with families to support their child in their educational success. Work with Classroom team to assure that the children are all achieving success in the classroom. Be an active participant in the classroom teaching team. 
 

Compensation:  $24.36 hr.

 

Minimum Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • First Washington State Stackable Certificate
    • Or Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) for Birth to three
  • 30 credits in Early Childhood Education required for ECEAP
  • Montessori Certificate required for Montessori Preschool
     

Minimum Related Experience

  • One (1) year experience working with children (birth to age three and/or birth to age five) and families in childcare, education, classroom or other related field.

 

Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray prior to hire and annually as a condition of continued employment.
  • CPR/First Aide Certificate. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Food Handlers Permit. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens Certificate. Must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must pass an annual physical exam prior to hire and maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing job duties
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

 

Terms of Employment:  This is a regular Full-Time position
