Tribal Department: Behavioral Health & Recovery (Adult Mental Wellness)


Job Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Mental Wellness Therapist will provide culturally competent mental wellness counseling services for the Tulalip community.  The Therapist will offer and provide counseling services from a strength-based empowerment model.


Compensation:  $29.47 hr.


Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or closely related Behavioral Science field with a focus on Mental Health Counseling.


Minimum Related Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience providing Mental Health Counseling services to adults, couples, and families.
  • Two (2) years’ working with Native American/Alaskan Native populations preferred
  • Two (2) years’ working with people experiencing crisis  preferred
  • Practice & Knowledge of one or more Trauma-Focused Therapies  Preferred



Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • Current unrestricted Independent or Full License - Marriage or Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor.
  • Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date.
  • WA State Driver’s License and personal automobile insurance.
  • HIPAA certification upon Hire.
  • Must provide current results of CPR/First Aid/Blood-borne pathogens/TB test or obtain within 90 days of hire. 
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
