Job Title: Chemical Dependency Professional             
 

Tribal Department: Behavioral Health
 

Job Summary: Provides counseling services regarding substance abuse and other related issue to Tribal as well as others in the local community.  Provide substance abuse treatment and intervention with a complex range of disorders and treatment needs.  Networks and communicates effectively with a variety of groups, organizations and agencies; engage, motivate, coach, validate/reinforce, and redirect positive behavior change; gain confidence and trust of client’s and their families through respectful communication; support/facilitate productive connections and interactions with clients and family and engage them in the rehabilitation and successful treatment.

 

Compensation: $24.68 hr.  *Applicant may be offered more depending on experience.

 

Education:

  • High School/GED required
  • Chemical Dependency Professional Certification 
  • Associate Degree or academic equivalent required.
     

Experience:

  • Two (2) years working with diverse cultures, specifically Native Americans.
  • Two (2) years experience working with HIPPA and confidentiality issues.
  • Two (2) years of chemical dependency counseling experience.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Must have a valid WA State Driver’s License and must adhere to the Tribal Insurance Policy. (Abstract Required)
  • Must have a First Aide/CPR certification, TB test, Blood Borne Pathogens certificate, or obtain within six-month as a condition of hire and maintain certification while employed

  • Must complete required Health Services credentialing process prior to start date

  • Must have had no disciplinary action taken by licensor or Washington State Department of Health or applicable agency of licensing/certification. Must disclose if you are under investigation or charges pending from licensor. 
  • HIPAA training upon hire
  • The Tulalip Tribes requires different levels of pre-employment background screening for all positions. Employment is contingent upon successful passing of these background checks.
  • No alcohol or drug related criminal conviction within five (5) years.
     

Terms of Employment: This is a contracted position.
