Department: Clinical Records



Job Summary: Responsible for working EPIC queue daily for all patient referrals for outside services, and coordinating/notifying patients of appointments. Ensure that documentation is completed; for insurance coverage, insurance prior authorization, and following I.H.S. /T.C.H.S. guidelines for coverage. Will follow-up with patients and outside vendors to close the referral once consultation is received to the Tulalip Health Clinic and the primary care provider has reviewed.


Compensation: $18.30 hr. *Applicant may be offered more depending on experience



Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required.


Minimum Related Experience:

  • One (1) year experience working with medical terminology.

  • One (1) year working in the medical field.

  • One (1) month experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding.

  • Six (6) months experience Electronic Health Record and/or EPIC required.

  • Six (6) months experience working with insurance company with pre-authorization.

  • Six (6) months experience using a scheduling GUI to assist with workflow (preferred)

  • Six (6) months experience using RPMS (preferred)

  • One (1) year experience with CHS priority guidelines (preferred)

  • One (1) year experience working with Native Community (preferred)


Skills Testing

  • Typing 25 wpm

  • Medical Terminology Knowledge


Required Licenses/Certifications/Other

  • Must have First Aid/CPR certification within 6 month of hire date.

  • Must have Blood Borne Pathogens certificate within 6 months of hire date.

  • Current TB Test (must be able to obtain one within your probationary period)

  • HIPAA training upon hire

  • The Tulalip Tribes requires different levels of pre-employment background screening for all positions. Employment is contingent upon successful passing of these background checks.


Terms of Employment: This is a Regular Full-Time position requiring 40 hours per week or 2080 hours per year.
