Tribal Department: Tulalip Police Department


Job Summary: Under the direction of the Tulalip Police Chief and ACCESS accredited Tele communicator provides dispatching, administrative and clerical support in accordance with established Police Department policies and procedures.  Ensure that all calls for service received by the Tulalip Police Department are handled in the best interest of Tulalip Community. Dispatch patrol officers to calls; perform duties and functions contained in the Tulalip Tribal Police Policies and Procedures.


Compensation:  $27.95 hr.

The Signing Bonus is paid out in two installments:

  • 1st installment of the bonus is paid on your FIRST paycheck.
  • 2nd installment of the bonus is paid after successful completion probationary period.


  • Signing bonuses are for select positions only and will be indicated on the job posting.
  • Current Employee department transfers are not eligible for signing bonus.
  • Any former Employee who has resigned or been dismissed within the past 12 months is not eligible for a signing bonus.


Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.



Minimum Related Experience

  • One (1) year experience utilizing communications skills.
  • One (1) year working with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel etc.
  • One (1) year working in an office environment; working with multi-line telephones, multi-tasking, use of copier/fax machine.



Skills Testing

  • Must be able to type 35wpm
  • Must take a multi-task test that is administered by the Communications Supervisor


Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • Must pass a Tier I-C background investigation.
  • Must not be convicted of a felony or any violent crime.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating 12-hour shifts.
  • Must abide by the Tulalip Tribes vaccination policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check. Must pass a Tulalip Police Department background investigation that includes but is not limited to; completing a Personal History Packet, credit check, and passing a polygraph.


Terms of Employment:  This is a regular full-time position.
