DEPARTMENT: Tulalip Police Department
JOB SUMMARY: Patrol all Usual & Accustomed Fishing areas of The Tulalip Tribes and enforce any and all pertinent codes and any Tribal, State and Federal Laws. Patrol all Game Management areas of The Tulalip Tribes and enforce any and all pertinent codes and any Tribal, State and Federal laws.
Patrols the exterior boundaries of the Tulalip Reservation, prevent crime, and enforce Tribal, State, and Federal Laws. Make arrest, investigate reports, and serve search warrants, criminal summons, traffic citations, and required legal reports. Take statements and conduct interviews with witnesses, suspects, and defendants. Participate in community service-crime prevention and youth programs. Provides support and backup to County, City, State, and Tribal Officers as well as Tribal Gaming Agents and other Tribal Programs.
Recruit Police Officers will be on probationary status from time of hire to 12 months after completion of the Field Training Program
COMPENSATION: $35.10 hr.
*Cadet- $30.23 hr. until successful completion & graduation of the Policy Academy
The Signing Bonus is paid out in two installments:
- 1st installment of the bonus is paid on your FIRST paycheck.
- 2nd installment of the bonus is paid after successful completion of your probationary period.
Eligibility:
- Signing bonuses are for select positions only and will be indicated on the job posting.
- Current Employee department transfers are not eligible for signing bonus.
Any former Employee who has resigned or been dismissed within the past 12 months is not eligible for a signing bonus.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year experience preferred.
- Working with electrical equipment, such as radar, depth sounders, plotters, radio’s, etc.
- Operating diesel vessels of 40 feet, gas vessels of 30 feet in length and small outboard Vessels. This to include in severe weather conditions, day or night.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- Applicant must be at least 20.5 years of age at the time of application.
- WA State Driver’s License.
- Must adhere to the Tribal Insurance Policy. (Abstract Required)
- CPR/First Aide Certificate. *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.
- Must pass all physical agility pre-employment processes.
- Must pass all pre-academy training, and academy requirements to also include physical fitness requirements.
- Continued employment is contingent on successful completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy and Field Training Program.
- Must not have been arrested for, convicted of, any crime of violence of which any disposition exists except not guilty including but not limited to convicted of any felony crime and/ or been convicted of domestic violence.
- Must live within 15 miles of the Tulalip Reservation. *Will allow three (3) months from hire date to be in compliance.
- Must pass a Psychological Evaluation by a Tulalip Police Department appointed psychologist.
- Must pass a pre-employment Medical evaluation by a Tulalip Police Department selected licensed medical provider.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
