DEPARTMENT: Betty J. Taylor Early Learning Academy (TELA)



 



JOB SUMMARY:  Engage children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical and developmental growth in preparation to reach School Readiness Goals. Utilize Program Curriculum to work with children on a daily basis to address individual educational goals. Work with families to support their child in their educational success.



 



COMPENSATION:  $19.82 hr.



The Signing Bonus is paid out in two installments:




  • 1st installment of the bonus is paid on your FIRST paycheck.

  • 2nd installment of the bonus is paid after successful completion of your 90 day probationary period.



Eligibility:




  • Signing bonuses are for select positions only and will be indicated on the job posting.

  • Current Employee department transfers are not eligible for signing bonus.

  • Any former Employee who has resigned or been dismissed within the past 12 months is not eligible for a signing bonus.



 



MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Washington State Early Childhood Education Certificate or CDA preferred.

  • An Associate or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred.



 



MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE




  • Six (6) months’ work experience with children (birth to age 5) and families in childcare, education, classroom or related field.



 



REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES




  • Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray. 

  • Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate. 

  • Blood Borne Pathogens Certificate. 

  • Food Handlers Permit. 

  • Must abide by the departments MMR (Measles, mumps and Rubella) vaccination policy

  • Must pass a physical exam prior to hire

  • 30 hours of STARS training. *Will allow thirty (30) days to obtain.

  • Must be able to pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable to perform the job functions.

  • Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment background check and MERIT background  check.



 



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This is a regular full-time position.
